As I'm sure you know, 2022 is Born Free's Year of the Lion,  in memory of our fearless Co-Founder, my late father, Bill Travers MBE. This special year features our tireless work to protect lions and all wild animals, and our efforts to promote compassionate conservation, all part of his incredible legacy. And this week is Remember a Charity Week.

Rehome our four ‘Lions of Lockdown’ – rescued from a miserable existence in an European circus and now living happily in their ancestral homeland of South Africa.

Use AI technology to identify  and protect individual giraffe by their unique coat patterns, resulting in a comprehensive database of individual wild giraffes.

Recruit and train Elephant Guardians to support our elephant monitoring, de-snare traps and promote conservation in Meru National Park, Kenya.

PS You won’t be surprised to learn that I have left something to Born Free in my Will, and I have asked for a permanent memory to be created by placing an ‘In Memorium’ plaque on one of our animal rescue sanctuaries/education centres. This is something Born Free can do for anyone who wishes.
