Earlier this week, the South Dakotans Decide Healthcare campaign submitted a petition to place Medicaid expansion on the ballot in 2022.

I’m excited to announce that 46,119 South Dakotans signed the petition to put this important measure on the ballot — a resounding ‘yes’ that residents across the state want and need expanded healthcare.

Right now , South Dakota is one of only 12 states that still has not expanded health care coverage to more low-income adults under the Affordable Care Act. If victorious, this proposed ballot measure would expand care to over 42,500 South Dakotans!

These victories have expanded life-saving health coverage to over 830,000 Americans nationwide.
