NY Daily News: To strengthen democracy, follow NY: Congress' For the People Act follows in the Empire State's footsteps

Reforms like automatic voter registration, public financing for campaigns, and ending voter roll purges are key tenets of the For the People Act that will go a long way in protecting our democracy.
But Republicans in Congress are filibustering to prevent its passage — and GOP-majority legislators across the country have been making it more difficult to vote for years by purging voter rolls, instituting arbitrary voter ID laws, and even making it illegal to bring food and water to people waiting in line to vote.
We’re proud of Mondaire for supporting the For the People Act and speaking out against voter suppression.
