At a press conference, he called out democratic legislative leaders, who he says are using their power to impeach as leverage to get their priority budget items passed. “The radical budget is being proposed simply because they're using it as leverage against a very weakened Andrew Cuomo," says Langworthy, "Carl Heastie is the speaker of the Assembly and Andrea Stewart Cousins the leader of the State Senate, they have the power, they have the votes, they could remove Andrew Cuomo tomorrow if they wanted to expedite the impeachment process. Andrew Cuomo and New York Health Commissioner Howard Zucker directed health officials to prioritize the governor's own family and administration for testing in the early days of the coronavirus pandemic, according to a report. Family members who reportedly received preferential testing included Cuomo's brother, CNN anchor Chris Cuomo, as well as his mother and at least one of his sisters, the Albany Times-Union reported, citing sources with direct knowledge of the matter.
