Dear John,

We’re so close.

As I write, we’re nearly 80% toward our Giving Tuesday 10,000 donor challenge
goal — and it’s only 3pm here in New York. We only need 2,231 people to step up
with a tax-deductible donation… and all gifts will be TRIPLED!

Our records* show that you haven’t yet made your Giving Tuesday donation.

But asylum-seekers — like the family shown in the photo above — are counting on
us. And that means we’re counting on you. You haven’t yet made a donation to Amnesty. But today is the day. It doesn’t
matter how much you give, it just matters that you do. Chip in $5 or $10 and it
could help us unlock a TRIPLE MATCH.

By stepping up today, you’ll be doubling down on your commitment to stopping deportations of children and their parents, and freeing families that are STILL sitting locked up in ICE detention, many for over twelve months .

Each of these families came to the U.S. seeking safety from threats and violence
in their home countries. But immediately upon arrival, ICE held them in
detention centers with negligent medical care during COVID-19. Too many have spent their birthdays behind bars.

John, no one should be detained for seeking asylum, and no one should be sent back to a country where they could be harmed.

Here are three reasons to give right now:

* If 2,231 more people make a donation between now and midnight tonight, ALL
GIFTS WILL BE TRIPLED for 3X the impact in our fight to free families from
ICE detention. »

* Support from donors and activists have measurable impact: together, with the
relentless advocacy of the families’ lawyers, we’ve helped free four families
from detention centers, including Marilin* and Yunior*, a mother and son,
just recently. »

* We have so much work ahead of us next year. We must take this opportunity to
raise the funds to reverse the assaults on human rights we’ve experienced the
past four years and beyond. »

You and I know that President Trump wielded untold damage to human rights in the
U.S. and abroad. And now is our moment to ensure that the Biden administration
makes advancing human rights its number one priority. That starts with freeing families together.

John, we can win their release. But only if we have the
resources to put sustained public pressure on those in charge. Please open your heart by making a donation to Amnesty today.

Thank you in advance — I hope you and your loved ones are safe and well.
