Each of these families came to the U.S. seeking safety from threats and violence in their home countries. But immediately upon arrival, ICE held them in detention centers with negligent medical care during COVID-19. Too many have spent their birthdays behind bars.
John, no one should be detained for seeking asylum, and no one should be sent back to a country where they could be harmed.
