South Carolina was spared from a direct hit by Hurricane Dorian
last week, but many of our residents felt its impact as the storm
skirted along our entire coast. I am grateful for Governor Henry
McMaster, the South Carolina Emergency Management Division, and
the first responders for their preparedness and timely response
to the massive and powerful storm.

South Carolina was spared from a direct hit by Hurricane Dorian
last week, but many of our residents felt its impact as the storm
skirted along our entire coast. I am grateful for Governor Henry
McMaster, the South Carolina Emergency Management Division, and
the first responders for their preparedness and timely response
to the massive and powerful storm.

While traveling on Air Force One yesterday, President Trump and I
talked with Governor McMaster and received a briefing on the
recovery efforts. The president reiterated that the federal
government stands ready to assist South Carolina. I will continue
to work in the Senate to ensure federal disaster funding is
provided where it is needed.

I am grateful for the state and local officials who worked so
hard to protect the wonderful people of South Carolina. We are
blessed to call the Palmetto State our home.
