While traveling on Air Force One yesterday, President Trump and I talked with Governor McMaster and received a briefing on the recovery efforts. The president reiterated that the federal government stands ready to assist South Carolina. I will continue to work in the Senate to ensure federal disaster funding is provided where it is needed. I am grateful for the state and local officials who worked so hard to protect the wonderful people of South Carolina. We are blessed to call the Palmetto State our home.
