One year ago, I stepped into my dream job as President and CEO of IWPR. I can remember all of the excitement, hope, and anticipation I brought with me that day—and every day since then—for the possibilities ahead. I sent my first Message from the President to all of you, beginning with a sentiment that remains true: “I am very proud to be leading IWPR at this critical moment in our nation's history.”

Even though the past 365 days have been a whirlwind, we are just getting started on implementing the change we want to see in the world, I’d like to highlight some key milestones for the Institute during my tenure that I am particularly proud of:

Our hugely successful March 2020 Equal Pay Day campaign
Leading the national conversation on the pandemic-led "shecession"
IWPR’s brand refresh that introduced a new logo, color scheme, sizzle reel, and web design along with our new tagline “A Just Future Begins with Bold Ideas.”
Receiving our largest-ever grant from Pivotal Ventures to launch our Research and Action Hub to accelerate change for women and families.
Expanding our Board of Directors and adding an Advisory Council of thought leaders and luminaries to help guide our work.

And coming soon to your inboxes, a sneak peek at our ambitious Recovery Report which will layout a roadmap for a gender-equitable recovery that centers women and families.

Nurturing a vision that places IWPR at the forefront of economic policy for women—and ushering it to reality during a pandemic—takes a village. I am grateful to our Board members for providing me this opportunity, to the IWPR research and support staff for their buy-in and hard work, and to our many partners for helping IWPR seize its untapped potential and take its place on the frontlines.

In Peace,
