Dear John,

As part of our ongoing mission to educate patients and consumers about the rights, risks and responsibilities associated with prescription opioids, we are excited to announce two new resources.

This week,
AAOA, in partnership with the PA Foundation, released two new videos ([link removed]) featuring a team of physician assistants from the Cleveland Clinic to educate patients and caregivers about prescription opioid safety. The videos underscore the importance of having open and honest conversations between patients and their healthcare providers and provide useful information to patients who are prescribed opioids. You can watch the videos by clicking the links below:
* Questions to Ask Your Provider: Pain Management and Prescription Opioids ([link removed])
* Three Things You Need to Know About Prescription Opioids ([link removed])

Additionally, we are excited to share the recent launch of the AAOA-HealthyWomenToolkit ([link removed]) . The toolkit underscores the seriousness of the country’s prescription opioid abuse epidemic on families across the country and includes resources tailored for women as both patients and caregivers. The toolkit includes:
* Ten Things Women Should Know About Prescription Opioids ([link removed]) : A fact sheet highlighting what women should know when opioids are prescribed;
* Questions to Ask Your Provider About Prescription Opioids ([link removed]) : A conversation guide to help navigate discussions when talking to a healthcare provider or pharmacist about prescription opioids; and,
* Safely Storing Prescription Opioids in Your Home ([link removed]) : A resource with information to help ensure opioids are safely and securely stored when a prescription is taken home.

Additional resources for patients, caregivers, pharmacists and providers are available on the AAOA website ([link removed]) .

Join us in raising awareness of the rights, risks and responsibilities of prescription opioids and share these materials with your family, friends and coworkers.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Sincerely,

Allied Against Opioid Abuse
