spike in mail-in voting. That's why what happens with the US Postal Service=

(1) The Democrats are dramatically calling the House back into session <ht=

edly, it will simply stop the Post Office from making any changes that were=

So they want the American people to believe that President Trump is (1) si=
multaneously "destroying" the postal service and (2) the solution is to rol=
l back to previous Trump Administration policies from January. Huh. Funny h=
ow that line of argument works!

(2) The Postal Service has already warned states about delivery issues <ht=

• What's happening: The left has had a difficult time re-writing election rules through the courts (remember: last month a Democratic super PAC dropped its challenge in Florida <[link removed]> ).

And now they've emerged from the weekend with a full-court press to "protect" the US Postal Service -- which appears to be a series of increasingly panicked tweets and speeches.

• What's at stake: This election will likely see an unprecedented spike in mail-in voting. That's why what happens with the US Postal Service is so critical ... and the Democrats' attempts to incite hysteria are so damaging.

(1) The Democrats are dramatically calling the House back into session <[link removed]> , but it's unclear if their legislation will help anything. Reportedly, it will simply stop the Post Office from making any changes that weren't already in place on January 1, 2020.

So they want the American people to believe that President Trump is (1) simultaneously "destroying" the postal service and (2) the solution is to roll back to previous Trump Administration policies from January. Huh. Funny how that line of argument works!

(2) The Postal Service has already warned states about delivery issues <[link removed]> . Last week, The Vote highlighted its letter to Pennsylvania that claimed they "can't guarantee timely delivery" for mail ballots <[link removed]> .

-- It's bizarre for Democrats to rally around this issue during the week of their convention. Normally parties like to keep the focus on their nominee and VIP speeches. We can't imagine this alternate focus is a good sign for Democrats' support of Joe Biden.

• What's happening: The all-virtual Democratic National Convention officially kicks off tonight. There will be two hours of prime-time coverage of speeches from major figures in the party.

Now here is a selection of the high-profile speeches you can expect tonight:

-- Sen. Amy Klobuchar, who dropped out of the presidential primary and endorsed Biden

-- Governor Gretchen Whitmer, who reportedly was a top contender for VP

-- Senator Bernie Sanders, who needs no introduction to readers of The Vote

• What's at stake: We just have two big questions as we head into the kick-off tonight.

(1) How enjoyable and exciting is a virtual convention? This is a first (for both parties!), and it had to be planned on short notice too. Normally convention speeches are exciting due to the energy and reaction of the crowd -- not to mention the balloon drops!

So we want to know how enjoyable and exciting virtual coverage is because that will determine how many Americans tune in ... especially since national Democrats seem focused on stealing attention away from this event with their new focus on the US Postal Service.

(2) What does Bernie Sanders say in his speech? Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) was restricted to a 60-second, pre-recorded video. But Sanders has openly called for party unity, even while his supporters try to push the Democrats to the extreme left.

What will he use his convention time to say, and will his supporters listen? If Sanders' supporters don't turn out for Biden in November, he'll be in big trouble at the polls.

• What else to know: President Trump and his campaign are planning events this week, too, in response to the Democratic convention.
