February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month. Abuse in relationships can start early. The LA County Department of Public Health's Office of Violence Prevention developed the Check for Respect Teen Dating Violence Prevention Toolkit [ [link removed] ], a resource designed to help teens and young adults recognize the signs of healthy and unhealthy relationships. It also provides guidance for adults who work with youth to help them recognize when a young person may be in an unsafe relationship and how to connect them with support.
