February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month. Abuse in relationships can start early. If you or someone you know is experiencing dating violence, visit loveisrespect.org or call 1-866-331-9474 or reach out to the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-7233 for 24/7 confidential support.

The LA County Department of Public Health's Office of Violence Prevention developed the Check for Respect Teen Dating Violence Prevention Toolkit, a resource designed to help teens and young adults recognize the signs of healthy and unhealthy relationships. It also provides guidance for adults who work with youth to help them recognize when a young person may be in an unsafe relationship and how to connect them with support.
