Here’s an update from our campaign:
** Dispelling Dark Money Misinformation
------------------------------------------------------------
Its no secret there is a lot of misinformation out there. Recently, shadowy dark money groups have spread misinformation about my vote to support work requirements ([link removed]) for able-bodied, childless adults.
This same dark money group was caught lying about my record so egregiously last year that even the left-leaning PolitiFact called them out ([link removed]) . Now they’re at it again.
In the ad, these groups imply that work requirements for important government programs will cause children to lose healthcare. The reason these ads only imply this, rather than saying it, is because they know it is false. Children in Wisconsin are not affected by work requirements.
The real reason shadowy groups are running these ads is because they oppose work requirements for able-bodied, childless adults on Medicaid.

Last year, Congress passed H.R. 1 ([link removed]) , the One Big Beautiful Bill, into law. This bill requires ([link removed]) able-bodied childless adults of working age on Medicaid to work, be looking for work, go to school, or volunteer at least 20 hours a week to receive government benefits.
Work requirements for able-bodied, childless adults in programs like Medicaid strengthen these programs for whom they were designed to serve: pregnant women, children, and disabled Americans. These reforms will save taxpayers $317 billion ([link removed]) .
The bill also requires eligibility checks twice a year. These checks ensure only eligible enrollees are receiving taxpayer funded assistance. Reforms like this help fight waste, fraud, and abuse, including the fraud we saw in Minnesota ([link removed]) .

80% ([link removed](April_2023)) of Wisconsin families voted for work requirements in a recent statewide referendum. Wisconsin has had similar rules in place for SNAP (food aid) since the 1990s. That is part of the reason why Wisconsin runs our programs better than states like California and Minnesota.
Eligible children will continue to receive the health coverage they need under H.R.1, while removing fraud and abuse from the system.

** 280 Days Out
------------------------------------------------------------
There are only 280 days left until election day. If you’ve seen the negative ads, you know that our district is one of the Left’s top targets.
Whether it is out-of-state dark money, Bernie Sanders’ Super Pacs, or Hakeem Jeffries’ DCCC machine, the Left believes taking our seat can help them gain control of the House ([link removed]) .
[link removed]
Our opponents in this race are radical activists, aligned with the far Left, who have:
* Advocated to abolish ICE
* Called federal law enforcement agents “Brownshirts”
* Voiced support for continuing the government shutdown that harmed working families
* Aligned themselves with the Socialist policies of Bernie Sanders, AOC, and NYC’s Zohran Mamdani
The Left is looking to roll back the progress we’ve made over the last year. They see our seat, the First District, as part of their path to control the House. We won’t let them win.
