Well that didn’t take long! After her defeat in the Dáil on abortion just before Christmas, Ruth Coppinger is back again - this time demanding the removal of the three-day waiting period before an abortion.
She calls it “patronising” and “dangerous,” but many women beg to differ, saying it gave them the time and space they desperately needed before making a life-changing decision.

When Sierra found out she was pregnant, she was afraid and felt overwhelmed. In a moment of fear, she took the abortion pill. Almost immediately, she knew it wasn’t what she truly wanted. She loved her baby - and she didn’t want to lose her.

The statistics released yesterday by the Department of Health and Social Care in Britain show the highest number of abortions ever recorded in England and Wales, with 278,740 taking place in 2023, an increase of 26,618 (11%) from 2022.
