Dear John,

As we close out 2025, I want to wish you and your family a very Happy
and healthy New Year and all the best for 2026! In particular,
here’s wishing a Happy New Year to those working tirelessly on New
Year’s Eve and early on New Year’s Day - thank you.

The past year has been a busy one across Harrow and Westminster, it
remains a real privilege to serve and represent Harrow West in
Parliament. Throughout 2025, I held more than 55 constituency
surgeries across Harrow, meeting residents face to face in trusted
community spaces - from the Zoroastrian Centre in Rayners Lane, to
North Harrow Community Library, and London’s Community Kitchen in
Wealdstone. These surgeries are where many of the 7,000 new cases we
took up this year began. Alongside this, my team and I responded to
over 26,000 emails, supporting residents with housing, anti-social
behaviour, immigration, healthcare and a wide range of other issues.

Beyond Harrow, I attended over 300 engagements across the country.
This included hosting my 8th annual University Fair with Whitmore High
School, my 6th annual Careers Fair with Rooks Heath, my first World
Clean Up Day with Harrow Litter Pickers, and my first annual Christmas
lunch at London’s Community Kitchen. These events are about
opportunity, pride in place, and bringing together friends, neighbours
and residents.

In Parliament, I spoke over 250 times, tabled 114 Parliamentary
Questions, and answered hundreds more as a Minister - totalling over
500 Parliamentary Questions and Answers. I also voted on major pieces
of legislation that many residents wrote in to support, including:

            •          Renters’ Rights Act
(passed 27 October)

            •          Employment Rights Act
(passed 18 December)

            •          Great British Energy Act
(passed 25 May)

            •          Mental Health Act (passed
18 December)

            •          Hillsborough Law
(introduced 16 September)

Thank you to everyone who has been in touch, attended an event,
volunteered locally or shared their experiences. Your voices shape the
work I do, and I will continue working hard for Harrow West in 2026!

In the coming months, I’ll be bringing my 7th annual Careers Fair to
Rooks Heath School on 22nd January (if you have a career you can offer
advice from, please do get in touch), and my 9th annual University
Fair will take place once again with Whitmore High School on Friday,
20th March.

My office will reopen on January 3rd - if you live in Harrow West &
have any concerns you wish to raise, please do get in touch, by email
via: [email protected] or by calling on 0207 219 4243.

CHRISTMAS LUNCH 2025

It was a real pleasure to host our Christmas lunch at London’s
Community Kitchen, bringing together residents and some of our
incredible local community champions. Thank you to everyone who got in
touch and joined us - it was a truly festive and joyful afternoon and
I hope we can plan to do it again. 🎄❤️

During the Covid years, I had the privilege of delivering Christmas
hampers to families in our community, and since then the commitment
and reach of London’s Community Kitchen has only continued to grow.

A huge thank you to Taz, Suzy and the entire team, who have been
working flat out to feed hundreds of children through the Holiday
Activities and Food (HAF) programme. Their dedication makes a real and
lasting difference to families across Harrow.

COULD YOU SPEAK ABOUT YOUR CAREER WITH HARROW STUDENTS?

My last Careers Fair with Rooks Heath School brought together hundreds
of Harrow pupils with companies and institutions from across the
country, from Google, to the NHS, Heathrow and many more.

On Thursday, 22nd January 2026, we are returning to another in-person
Careers Fair format at Rooks Heath School and would love to hear from
Harrow residents from a variety of occupations. If you or your
business/company are able to speak with students from 9:30AM-430PM, or
even for a few hours in the morning or afternoon - we would love to
hear from you!
