PASS THE OPERATING PLAN FOR THE MIAMI CENTER FOR MENTAL HEALTH AND
RECOVERY

[8]

Thank you, Chairman Rodriguez, for putting the Mental Health Center
before the County’s Appropriations Committee this Wednesday.  This
legislation represents the culmination of 20 years of effort,
following 2004 voter approval of General Obligation Bonds (GOB) to
construct a new Mental Health Center. The Resolution before the
Miami-Dade County Commission Appropriations Committee seeks approval
of the operating plan and budget necessary to open the MIAMI CENTER
FOR MENTAL HEALTH AND RECOVERY (MCMHR)—a first-of-its-kind,
comprehensive diversion and treatment facility designed to replace the
costly and ineffective cycle of jail, homelessness, and acute-care
hospitalization with a coordinated system of care.

LAW ENFORCEMENT ISN’T FOR EVERYONE — AND THAT’S EXACTLY WHY IT
MATTERS SO MUCH. At the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, we’re proud
to offer good pay and benefits, opportunities for advancement, and a
strong sense of purpose. But before anyone applies, I encourage them
to pause and ask themselves why. Why do you want to wear this uniform?
Why do you want to serve?

PUTTING HOMEOWNERSHIP WITHIN REACH AGAIN

[30]

Families across Miami-Dade County are under real pressure. Rising
property taxes, higher insurance premiums, and increasing mortgage
costs are putting homeownership out of reach for too many. My focus is
simple: We must deliver real relief for our residents, support
property tax reforms that lower these costs, and help families stay in
the homes and neighborhoods they love.

STOP RAISING STUDENTS. START RAISING EXECUTIVES.

[36]

I was born and raised in Miami, Florida. Growing up as a student here,
I remember the pressure to be everything to everyone: the honor roll
student, the volunteer lead, the club president. We are told that if
we check every box, the gates of the Ivy League will swing open.
It’s a lie. And in 2025, it is a dangerous one. Today, I am writing
from the campus of Harvard Business School, where I am completing my
MBA. Before this, I managed global HR operations at Google. Looking
back at my path—from a high school theatre kid in Miami, to an
Economics degree at the University of Chicago, and then to Big
Tech—I realize I didn’t get here by being “well-rounded.”

UNDER THE HOOD WITH GRANT MILLER!

2025 NISSAN MURANO IS BUILT FOR MIAMI LIFESTYLE

[40]

Miami has a way of testing cars. One minute you’re crawling on I-95
in rush hour heat, and the next, you’re sliding into a packed garage
in Brickell or packing paddleboards for a weekend in Key Biscayne. If
an SUV can’t juggle comfort, style, and versatility, it won’t
survive here. That’s why the all-new 2025 Nissan Murano feels like
it was made with our city in mind.
