** After being abused in the sex trade, Ally can smile again.

When Ally was just a child, she was sexually abused over and over by people who were supposed to protect her. This devastated her sense of self worth, and after being shunned by her community she ended up in the sex trade to survive.

On her first night in prostitution, a large, drunk man—unhappy with her “performance”—became angry with her. He threw her across the room, punched her in the face, and broke one of her teeth.

Ally continued to suffer violence in the sex trade for years, and when she finally escaped, she carried immense shame. Her broken teeth became a visible symbol of that shame.

Exodus Cry got connected with Ally and, thanks to generous donors like you, we were able to pay for her teeth to be fixed. She shared, “This is a gift I thought would never, ever happen.”

Because the damage to her teeth was so extensive, she needed nearly a full mouth rebuild. After several weeks of dental work, Ally had a whole new smile.

She feels more confidence than she’s felt in years, and she can’t stop smiling. She told us:
