Dear Jack,

I was proud to vote for bipartisan legislation condemning socialism and rejecting the dangerous, failed socialist policies being pushed in America today. The House passed the measure overwhelmingly — but 98 Democrats voted against it.

One person who’s been silent? My Democrat opponent, Ammar Campa-Najjar.

Whenever I’m fighting for the people of the 48th District, Ammar is usually on social media complaining from the sidelines. But when given the chance to stand up to Zohran Mamdani and the rise of socialism in his own party, he suddenly disappears. No leadership. No courage. No solutions.

America is a nation built by entrepreneurs. I’ve started companies in California, and I know firsthand how crushing bureaucracy and high taxes can be for small businesses. Socialists want more government — and in some cases, government running businesses outright.

That’s exactly what Mamdani is proposing in New York City. He wants the city government to take over grocery stores. If that happens, New Yorkers will face higher prices, longer lines, fewer choices, and even food shortages — exactly the failures that socialism has produced everywhere it’s been tried.

Every few years, it seems this country needs another reminder: socialism has failed in every nation that adopted it. That’s why we passed this resolution — to make it crystal clear that America will not follow the path of Cuba, Venezuela, or the Soviet Union.

And let me be even more clear: Mamdani will destroy New York City if he enacts the socialist agenda he campaigned on. Whether it’s government-run healthcare or government-run grocery stores, when you eliminate competition and replace it with unaccountable bureaucrats, costs skyrocket and quality collapses. Free markets — not socialism — drive prices down and give families more options.

We need to push back against Democrat misinformation and ensure voters understand the truth: socialism is dangerous, destructive, and completely incompatible with American values.

My opponent Ammar won’t say it. I will.
