Email from Defend Our Courts Our undoing could come from our own voters. John, We are not being facetious when we say all hell has been let loose in Pennsylvania. The upcoming November 2025 PA Supreme Court Race will soon be the most expensive judicial race in American History and could even become the most expensive race in electoral history outside of a Presidential election. Sadly it's not the Democrats who are breaking the spending records in this race… We are getting clobbered by Republicans and are being outspent 10-1. The reason the GOP is spending so much here is because whoever controls the Pennsylvania Supreme Court controls Pennsylvania. If Democrats lose here we never win in swing state Pennsylvania again - 19 electoral college votes gone for good. Now our prospects here are about to get far worse: Examples of the deceptive tactics the GOP are using to trick progressive voters into voting no and supporting the far-right cause of removing PA’s Democratic Supreme Court majority. Over the past week Democrats have begun receiving mailers, digital ads, and pamphlets that utilize progressive messaging telling voters to vote no in this election (the far-right cause). We’ve now received word from a confidential source in the Pennsylvania printing industry that a Republican dark money operation is days away from sending vote no mailers like the ones pictured above to over 100,000 high propensity Democratic voters. These high propensity Dem voters are the people who are most likely to vote in an off year special election like this one. If they are duped into voting for the Republican cause it will be game over. Our undoing could come from our own voters. Defend Our Courts was never planning on doing serious spending on mail. Our strategy was always to focus the majority of our funds on TV and canvassers but this changes everything. If we want to prevent tens of thousands of Dems from inadvertently voting against us, we need to rapidly pivot to mail to counter the GOP’s deceptive mailing push.
