I don’t write emails like this, normally. I take photos. I document what I see and create portraits of it. Sadly, most of the portraits I make as an undercover investigator are of moments that don’t belong in a photo album or picture frame.
World Day for Farmed Animals is a bittersweet day for people like me. Because it reminds us that we’re still not taking the kind of pictures of animals that we so desperately want to see.

As human beings, we usually take photos and make portraits of things that we want to remember. For me … I’ve mostly stopped remembering. Because I’ve seen too much. But I keep taking photos—of the cruelty, of the unimaginable abuse. Because I hope that somehow, some way, they help.
