This Saturday is National Public Lands Day, team! It’s a day to not only celebrate our public lands, but also commit to expanding access to outdoor recreation and education for generations to come.

In California, we always hear about the big three: Yosemite, Joshua Tree, and Big Sur. And they really are majestic! But there are so many precious spaces across California that are just as beautiful, but might not get the fame they deserve.

This weekend is the perfect time to celebrate the hidden gem nature spots that are meaningful to YOU. Sign our petition to support local, accessible public lands—and, if you want, tell us about an outdoor place that's close to your heart!

Our public lands should be accessible to everyone. The more we fund public transit to increase access to public lands, the easier it is for all of California's communities to take part in celebrating and enjoying our beautiful outdoor spaces.

That's why EnviroVoters is celebrating Public Lands Day by leading a Transit to Trails event in Orange County! We'll be taking the bus up to Cleveland National Forest to picnic, laugh, connect, and write letters to advocate for public land protections. In a time when public lands are under attack and the world seems hard, it's so important to carve out space for joy, celebration, and positivity in the outdoors.

Hope you get to spend time outside this weekend!
