Our Chief Program Officer Jennifer Nagda will be speaking at the 10 year anniversary of the ABA Children’s Immigration Law Academy (CILA) on September 23 at 2:00 p.m. as part of a roundtable discussion with experts working with unaccompanied youth to discuss how far we’ve come in the last ten years, recent setbacks, and what we can work towards for the future of the unaccompanied children’s program.
The event will be hosted by CILA’s Director and co-founder Dalia Castillo-Granados, and will also include speakers from the Acacia Center for Justice, KIND, and National Center for Youth Law. The conversation will highlight the progress of unaccompanied children's rights, current challenges, and future strategies for working with unaccompanied children. This webinar is geared towards anyone at a legal service provider who works with unaccompanied children, including attorneys, social workers, and legal staff, but all are welcome!

If the video does not work, you can also view it on our Instagram page. The decision also recognized the tireless work of advocates in this case [[link removed]] , including the Young Center’s role as a trusted advocate for unaccompanied children, noting its unique role as Child Advocate under federal law and its advocacy experience for more than 7,000 children in custody over the years.
