When my daughter's school started Pizza Fridays... There was a major problem.
They were serving DOMINO'S.
As a food activist and investigator of what’s in our food, I knew the ingredients in Domino's are not something I wanted going into my daughter’s body every week.
Their pizzas are filled with dozens of questionable ingredients including TBHQ, Soybean Oil, and Cellulose.
At the same time, I didn’t want her to miss out on having Pizza Fridays with all the other children.
I tried to get the school to swap out Domino's with a clean local pizza place, but ultimately that didn't work out (you can read the whole story in my book, Food Babe Family).
That’s when my daughter had the idea:
“Mom, why don’t you just send me your homemade pizza. I would love green peppers, red peppers and olives on it, please.”
So that’s what we did.
Now, together, we make delicious, individual pizzas at home for Pizza Friday. The kids love them, they pack perfectly for lunchboxes, and on “pizza day,” they never feel like they’re missing out.
Our go-to recipe is Home Baked Pizza from my book Food Babe Family.
It's super quick and fun to make.

Home Baked Pizza (Kid-Approved!)
Ingredients

1 large Ezekiel Sprouted Wheat Tortilla, thawed
4 tablespoons tomato sauce
1 garlic clove, minced
¼ cup chopped yellow onion
¼ cup chopped green bell pepper
¼ cup chopped broccoli florets
5 black olives, sliced
1 ounce goat mozzarella cheese shredded
½ ounce raw Parmesan cheese
Crushed red pepper flakes, for sprinkling

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 450°F.
Place the tortilla on a large parchment-lined baking sheet and put in the oven for 3 to 4 minutes to allow the crust to harden a bit. Once the tortilla has started to slightly crisp along the edges, remove it from the oven.
Place the tomato sauce and garlic on the crust. Top with onion, bell pepper, broccoli, olives, and cheese, being careful not to overload the crust. Return the loaded pizza to the oven and bake for 10 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly.

I recommend the 360 Cookware Large Cookie Sheet—it bakes everything evenly, no toxins, and lasts forever. [Besides, you’ll save 25% OFF with code FOODBABE at checkout.]
Pro tip: Give each child their own tortilla “pizza crust.” Let them pick the toppings (cheese, veggies, sauce) and watch the magic happen.
The result? You don’t ever feel like your children are missing out when they aren’t eating the processed food that everyone else around them is eating.
That’s the bigger mission of Food Babe Family: to arm you with the recipes and tools to live in this over-processed food world.
Because kids aren’t “missing out” when they avoid Domino's, Doritos, or other processed junk…
They’re avoiding chemicals that cause cancer, gut issues, eczema, fatty liver, obesity, and type 2 diabetes!
You’re not depriving them—you’re protecting them.
And that just might be the greatest gift we can give our kids.
Xo,
Vani
P.S. Know another parent who is also looking for an upgrade to Domino's pizza? Forward this to them so they can see how easy it is.
