High-Level Discussions Held with Guatemalan President and Jewish Communal Leaders


Marina Rosenberg, SVP for International Affairs Marina Rosenberg and Liat Altman, Director of Latin American Affairs, visited Colombia and Guatemala for high-level meetings with elected officials, the Jewish community and others. In Guatemala,

they met with President Bernardo Arevalo , where they discussed implementing the Global Guidelines to Combat Antisemitism, and presented the President with Spanish-language educational resources for Holocaust education and to help combat rising antisemitic incidents across the region.




In Colombia, they met

with Jewish community leaders to discuss the heightened vulnerability of Colombian Jews amid government-sanctioned political antisemitism, and how ADL can assist. They also met with

Israel and the Middle East

expressed reservations about Israel's decision to expand Gaza operations, including how it will impact the wellbeing of the 50 hostages and the security of global Jewish communities, while emphasizing that holding all Jews accountable for Israeli government policies constitutes antisemitism.

condemned the international community for failing to speak out about the Syrian’s government’s massacre of and violence towards Druze and other minorities in the country, arguing that Western endorsement of Syria's "reformed" government has enabled these atrocities.

Dalia Grinfeld, Associate Director of European Affairs, participated in the European Union of Jewish Students (EUJS) Summer U conference that brings together young Jewish students and professionals aged 18-30 from across Europe. During the conference, ADL led sessions on antisemitism and anti-Israel bias, facilitated Words to Actions workshops and activities, met with emerging Jewish student leaders from across Europe, and participated in several

condemned Norway's Government Pension Fund Global for divesting from 11 Israeli companies, citing a discriminatory double standard that excludes Israeli companies at a 32% rate—the highest of any country in the fund's 63-country portfolio—while giving free passes to authoritarian regimes like China, Qatar, and Turkey.
