Email from Greater Georgia Back to school, ballots, and building a Greater Georgia! Greater Georgia Newsletter August 1, 2025 As summer winds down and families across Georgia prepare for a new school year, Greater Georgia is laser-focused on our mission: to protect our elections, promote conservative values, and invest in the next generation of Georgians. Here's what you need to know heading into August. Back to School Strong, Safe, and Distraction-Free Schools Georgia conservatives recently advanced several key measures to help students return to a safer, more stable classroom environment this fall: ✏️ The Legislature fully funded public education and several priorities, including: $13.6+ billion invested in public education $162 million invested in school safety grants $22+ million in new literacy coaches and other literacy tools ✏️ The Distraction Free Education Act (HB 340), which takes effect in 2026, bans cellphone use during the school day, so kids can focus on learning. ✏️ The Riley Gaines Act (SB 1 ) defends fairness in girls' sports by ensuring teams are based on biological sex. ✏️ Ricky & Alyssa's Law (SB 17) requires mobile panic-alert buttons and digital campus maps in every K-12 school to improve emergency response and keep students safe. So let's use this as motivation to show Georgia the strength of our voice. This is exactly why we do the work we do every day to educate, engage, and mobilize voters — and we know those efforts will pay off in November. Take a look at this tool below to see how your county compared in turnout, and let it fuel your outreach to friends and neighbors in advance of these elections. PSC PRIMARY ANALYSIS ICYMI: Standing Up for Secure Elections We're continuing to push back against attacks on Georgia's common sense voting laws and advocating for smart reforms that make it easy to vote and hard to cheat. One major step forward: the launch of the Georgia House Blue Ribbon Study Committee on Elections, a group of trusted leaders and election experts working to review Georgia's election systems and recommend improvements that strengthen integrity and boost voter confidence. We’ll keep leading the charge to protect Georgia’s elections because every legal vote should count, and every illegal vote should be stopped.
