Georgia conservatives recently advanced several key measures to help students return to a safer, more stable classroom environment this fall:
✏️ The Legislature fully funded public education and several priorities, including:
$13.6+ billion invested in public education
$162 million invested in school safety grants
$22+ million in new literacy coaches and other literacy tools
✏️ The Distraction Free Education Act (HB 340), which takes effect in 2026, bans cellphone use during the school day, so kids can focus on learning.
✏️ The Riley Gaines Act (SB 1 ) defends fairness in girls' sports by ensuring teams are based on biological sex.
✏️ Ricky & Alyssa's Law (SB 17) requires mobile panic-alert buttons and digital campus maps in every K-12 school to improve emergency response and keep students safe.
