I have an update to share on our campaign for U.S. Senate from North Carolina, friend:
Yesterday, Michael Whatley, a DC insider and big oil lobbyist, and Republican National Committee Chair, announced he’s running to defeat me. Whatley has a record of doing and saying anything to gain President Trump’s personal favor — even if it hurts North Carolinians. It’s paid off for him so far, earning him the RNC chairmanship and Trump’s endorsement in this U.S. Senate race.

You know, I never really wanted to go to Washington. I just wanted to serve the people right here in North Carolina. But we’re facing a moment as fragile as any that I can remember, and we can’t afford to elect a D.C. insider who only stands for his political party and those he lobbied for — not the people of North Carolina.
Friend, it’s more important than ever that NC be represented by someone who will do what is right. And on this, I give you my word: I will stand up for your families and do everything in my power to make this country better.
We all know that this isn’t going to be an easy race to win. We’re in for a long, expensive fight no matter what — and Republicans are preparing, too. They plan to spend hundreds of millions in our state, and they even started attacking us before we officially announced our campaign because they’re so concerned about losing this seat and losing the Senate.
One way you can help us fight back against Whatley and the GOP machine behind him is by making a grassroots donation right now. Let’s show them that we have the momentum in this race from the get go, and that their mega-donors can’t buy our state. Chip in $10 or $20, split between our campaign and iVote Fund's team, today. iVote was created in 2014 with one goal: secure voting rights for all Americans.
Rather than take on challenges in the court after unfair laws have passed, iVote plays defense on voter suppression efforts AND goes on offense to secure and expand access to voting.
Going on offense is critical. We have the chance to elect Secretaries of State that will protect our elections for years to come. But Republicans are already suppressing and blocking certain citizens from exercising their fundamental right to vote.

We need a massive coalition to register new voters and protect our right to vote in this election and beyond.
We know you get a lot of emails, but it's only because this fight is so important. We need you to stick with us long term. But if you must go, you can unsubscribe.
