John,
Again, to make it abundantly clear, since this is sadly not the first time we've had to say this: We condemn political violence in any form .
We know the people receiving this email likely know that and agree, but we're stating it again for the record. The recent attempted and successful assassinations in Minnesota by a man masquerading as a police officer are chilling. Our hearts go out to the families of the victims, and we hope they can find some solace in the coming days.
Like we've said before, when this has happened -- despite whatever legitimate political or policy differences any of us might have with any elected official, candidate, or advocacy group -- violence, like what happened in Minnesota, is never the answer .
Voter Action Project is going dark today out of respect for the victims of this weekend's terrible act. Our work to defend the right to vote will of course continue, but for now, please take the time to think about those lost, those clinging to life with critical injuries, and their family members.
Onward,
The Voter Action Project Team

Integrity First Voter Action Project is dedicated to expanding ballot access and increasing voter participation across the country.
Since the Supreme Court gutted key provisions in the Voting Rights Act, extreme politicians have taken advantage to pass harsh laws that restrict access to the ballot box. These restrictions particularly affect disadvantaged communities and people of color. It’s our goal to bring awareness to these laws wherever they may crop up and organize voters to take action to ensure the right to vote is available to everyone in their states and communities.
Contributions or gifts to Integrity First Voter Action Project are not tax deductible as charitable contributions or as business expenses under IRC Section 162(3). Integrity First Voter Action Project is organized and operates under section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code.
