Fun events planned for invasive species week

Recently, Gov. Jim Pillen declared May 26-30 as Nebraska Invasive Species Awareness Week. Here's a few opportunities and things to know about this issue.

First, boaters can make a big difference! Practice clean, drain and dry [ [link removed] ] procedures to prevent aquatic hitchhikers from spreading to new water bodies.

Also, join us this Saturday, May 31, for a special event [ [link removed] ] at Pawnee State Recreation Area. The day includes a guided nature hike, kayaking, fishing, and lots of chances to learn more about invasive species. Dive even deeper with an educational webinar [ [link removed] ] May 30.

Help available for Nebraska landowners seeing wildlife damage

By now, most crops have been planted and are growing — which also means possible wildlife damage to crops or other parts of your property.

Dueling Pianos event features food, music and comedy

It's not too late to get your tickets! Visit Lewis and Clark State Recreation Area June 14 for a special event featuring Midwest Dueling Pianos.

The performance will offer a mix of music and comedy that's a delight for all ages. Guests can also visit food trucks and spend the day exploring this scenic park, which is popular for its boating, fishing, kayaking, and even disc golf and birdwatching.
