Each month we hold Planning Commission meetings and present to the Board of Island County Commissioners on topics relevant to _Island County’s 2025 Comprehensive Plan Update [ [link removed] ]_. Below are our upcoming meetings and engagement opportunities. 

*Planning Commission*

The next Planning Commission meeting will be on Wednesday, May 7th at 6pm. Long Range Planning will be presenting on the draft Capital Facilities Element/Plan. The meeting will also include continued conversation on Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) that were presented to the Planning Commission on April 16th, 2025. Meeting materials are available in the _agenda center [ [link removed] ]_. 

*Board of County Commissioners*

Long Range Planning will be on the Board’s Regular Session agenda on May 6th to request the scheduling of a public hearing on the development moratorium [ [link removed] ]. The suggested date for the public hearing is June 3, 2025. The establishment of the Keystone Farm and Forest Preserve Special Review District is also on the Board’s May 6 agenda. Long Range Planning also will be presenting to the Board on May 14th on the Capital Facilities Element/Plan. Meeting materials will be available for all of these meetings in the _agenda center [ [link removed] ]_. 

*Engagement Opportunities*

Island County Public Works has developed a survey [ [link removed] ] to help with the update of the parks element of the comprehensive plan. This survey [ [link removed] ] will help them understand your opinion and priorities on possible conservation, trail, park, and indoor facility projects and financing of the County's overall park system.
