Conservatives in Congress are making the largest cut to Medicaid in the program’s history. They’re gutting programs that put food on the table for hungry kids. They’re advancing bills to increase bank fees, slashing the federal workforce and eliminating entire federal agencies.
What’s it all for?
It’s not for you.
They aren’t taking any of these drastic measures to help stabilize the economy, lower our debt or put money back into the pockets of hard-working constituents. They’re doing it to help their billionaire friends get even richer.
Despite the reckless cuts, they’re adding trillions of dollars to the federal deficit to finance tax cuts worth $60,000 for the top 1 percent. Meanwhile, working families will get a couple hundred bucks that will be more than cancelled out by the Trump tariffs.
I won’t stand for it: I will do everything I can to help prevent this bad budget from becoming reality and to pass meaningful legislation for struggling families. Because, unlike my extreme colleagues, I’m in it for you.
