Dear Fellow American,
Some elected officials can't take a joke.
And unfortunately, they think they have the power to do something about it.
After the governor of California saw a video parody of a politician, he
responded by saying the video should be "illegal." Then the California
legislature fast-tracked and passed two bills, banning certain political speech.
The Babylon Bee and other plaintiffs filed a lawsuit against California
officials because the bills censor free speech and punish people for posting
certain political content online, including political memes and parodies of
politicians.
