*4. Reminder to U.S. taxpayers abroad: File tax return by June 16*
________________________________________________________________________
U.S. taxpayers [ [link removed] ] who work and live outside of the U.S. must file their 2024 federal income tax return by June 16. This deadline applies to both U.S. citizens and resident aliens abroad [ [link removed] ], including those with dual citizenship. Taxpayers who can’t meet the June 16 due date can request an automatic extension to Oct. 15. This is an extension of time to file, not an extension to pay. The fastest and easiest way to get an extension is to request it electronically. Several electronic filing options are available.
