3X impact for clean streams & healthy forests
The Monte Rio Redwoods property includes three streams that all feed into the Russian River. These headwaters — an important 3.7 miles of streams! — mean everything to my species. This is where we come to spawn, and these streams are the ideal habitat for us to grow up.
The League has worked for a long time to preserve our habitats. [[link removed]] Did you hear how they were able to restore streams that salmon rely on in Prairie Creek? They also removed harmful dams along the Klamath River, restoring habitats for the threatened chinook salmon.
Along the streams of Monte Rio Redwoods, bushes and fallen tree branches create pools and shade where I like to rest from the strong currents. The uptick in nutrients nourishes vegetation, which stabilizes banks, keeps creeks cool and attracts birds and deer. Everything is connected here! [[link removed]]
