Dear Friends- I hope you are enjoying the first three weeks of President Trump's second term as much as I am! We have seen Tulsi Gabbard and Robert Kennedy Jr confirmed and join the America First administration and are excitedly anticipating the appointment of Linda McMahon to the Department of Education so that we can start cleaning house and redeeming the public school system across the country. Last Friday, we saw dramatic displays from the left, banging on the doors, demanding to be let into the US Dept of Education. This would have been an understandable event, had it occurred three weeks ago when the National Academic Report Card came out and exposed the abysmal truth that nearly 2/3 of our students are not reading or doing math at grade level. These horrible scores are the lowest on record in the last 30 years! We might have EXPECTED our elected officials to DEMAND ANSWERS from the $238 Billion Department of Education. We may have even CHEERED if these legislators were (FINALLY) demanding accountability, but that is NOT what the enraged Democrats were angry about. No, these people were demanding MONEY. As usual, they are silent regarding academic excellence, school safety or the chronic teacher shortage, but when they are facing the thought of losing a financial stake in the education cabal, they come out swinging with inflammatory accusations and fear mongering to disguise corruption and incompetence. The National Alliance for Education Reform went to DC on Monday to hold a press conference and to celebrate President Trump's plan to Make Education Great Again. Below, you can watch the speech that I gave in front of the Departmnet of Education and an article from the Carolina Journal detailing the trip.
Here in NC, there is so much work to do. The majority of school districts are not following the excellent laws that our legislators passed in 2023 to Protect Women's Sports, Respect Parental Rights and End Medical Secrecy in our schools. We are failing to provide a quality education for the majority of our young people, and this past week we have seen and heard education officials refusing to follow the Executive Orders of President Trump and claiming that wanting to dismantle DEI programs is akin to racism. We must all fight back against the destructive agendas that have been robbing our children of hope, purpose and preparation for life I am devoted to keeping my campaign promises to make NC schools the best in the country and an example for the rest of the nation to follow. We are heading to CPAC next week to interface with other organizations who are in the same battle. Please consider how you can help us make President Trump's education reform a reality in NC and beyond. We need your financial support to be able to expose the problems, equip We The People and lobby for change at the local, state and federal level. Donate Today to Save the Children and Our Country. In Your Service, Michele Morrow RN, BSN Executive Director National Alliance for Education Reform.
