New Democrat Coalition Chair Brad Schneider (IL-10) released the following statement on the New Democrat Coalition Leadership Team’s endorsement of two critical bills: the Taxpayer Data Protection Act ([link removed]) and the Prevent Tariff Abuse Act ([link removed]) .

The Taxpayer Data Protection Act would limit access to the Treasury’s data systems and the Prevent Tariff Abuse Act would clarify that the President cannot impose tariffs under the guise of a national emergency without congressional approval.
