Despite Ted Cruz’s public attempts to exude confidence in his reelection,
he doesn’t seem to be so sure anymore.

At the Texas GOP Convention last month, our part-time senator warned his
colleagues of a potential upset — where he loses reelection to Democratic
rival Colin Allred.

For once, we agree with Ted. Here's why:

In 2018, the notion of Texas being a safe GOP stronghold was pierced when
Cruz was nearly toppled by his then-rival, Beto O’Rourke. O’Rourke came
within three points of unseating Ted — the closest margin for any
statewide Republican that year.

Now, in 2024, Cruz has been hobbled by new issues. From the ethics
investigation into his sh*tty podcast, a never-ending stream of negative
headlines, to consistently falling behind Allred’s fundraising, it
probably isn’t great to be Ted right now.
