Dear John,

Meet Herman. Herman was at the city pound this morning—less than an hour ago—and his future was very much in doubt.
Euthanasia is up 24% at Chicago Animal Care and Control (the pound) this year, and Herman may well have been on that list one day.

Just getting through today is a struggle for him. He’s covered in lesions and lacerations, and severely underweight.
Thanks to our partnership with the pound—and supporters like you—PAWS Chicago was there to help.

Now at our state-of-the-art Medical Center, Herman will get everything he needs—medical care, socialization, love, and eventually, a family he can call his own. It’s our promise to all PAWS pets, and to you.

It's how we could take in Pancake and Waffle, two four-week-old kittens found last night, crying in a garage, with dangerous temperatures setting in. Momma was nowhere to be found, and fortunately a Good Samaritan brought them to our door.

Our work is happening in real time—everyday—because the need is immediate. Homeless cats and dogs are on the street, hurting, afraid, and alone. They need us. And we need you, our PAWS community.
