Meet Herman. Herman was at the city pound this morning—less than an hour ago—and his future was very much in doubt.

Euthanasia is up 24% at Chicago Animal Care and Control (the pound) this year, and Herman may well have been on that list one day.
Just getting through today is a struggle for him. He’s covered in lesions and lacerations, and severely underweight.

Now at our state-of-the-art Medical Center, Herman will get everything he needs—medical care, socialization, love, and eventually, a family he can call his own. It’s our promise to all PAWS pets, and to you.
It's how we could take in Pancake and Waffle, two four-week-old kittens found last night, crying in a garage, with dangerous temperatures setting in. Momma was nowhere to be found, and fortunately a Good Samaritan brought them to our door.
