ACTION ALERT

Protecting Students from Obscene Library Materials Bill Hearing Wednesday!

This Wednesday, March 29th , a priority bill (Senate Bill S.B. 13 by Sen. Paxton) to protect public school students from obscene materials in school libraries, will be heard in the Senate Education Committee E1.028 at the Texas Capitol.

SB 13 would create a school library advisory council consisting mostly of parents to review library books. The bill also creates an appeal process for any inappropriate books found in school libraries.

The Senate Education Committee will hear SB 13 by Senator Paxton this WEDNESDAY, March 29th at 9:00AM in the Capitol Extension (E1.028).

Parents of public school students across Texas have become increasingly alarmed about the books and content found in public school libraries that are extremely inappropriate and obscene in the public education system. SB 13 is a common sense solution to increase public school transparency and support parental rights while protecting children.
