Together, we can end gun violence

John, the first few months of 2023 have been an absolute rollercoaster. Our movement to end gun violence has seen some highs and lows.

Our nation was rocked by a series of devastating mass shootings in just a short few months. From Colorado Springs to Monterey Bay to Lansing, we’ve been reminded again and again of the constant threat of gun violence. I pray for the families of the victims as they navigate their grief.

But John, faith without works is dead. I wake up every day with a fresh resolve to carry on the fight for gun safety reform in Congress. Ahead of the upcoming end-of-quarter FEC fundraising deadline this Friday, will you make a donation to my campaign to help me continue my efforts?

We’ve seen signs that our years of advocacy are paying off. This past month President Biden signed an executive order that will require background checks on more gun sales and enact other key protections to keep our communities safe.

We’ve sent a clear message that Americans are sick of seeing the devastation of gun violence in the news every week and that a better way is possible. I’m grateful to President Biden for taking a stand, but our work is far from done.

I’m fighting to pass a federal assault weapons ban that would prevent dangerous people from accessing high-powered weapons of war that are often used in mass shootings. If you’re with me, you can show your support by donating to my campaign before this Friday’s end-of-quarter fundraising deadline.

Change doesn’t happen overnight, but we’re building a long-term movement that will pay off in the years to come. Thanks for being part of this journey.

Onward,

Lucy McBath
