Hi John,

Five years ago, more than one million people took to the streets across the country to demand action to stop gun violence. The March For Our Lives was led by survivors of the massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and young people from every corner of the country who were outraged by politicians putting the gun lobby before their lives.

That day, and the energy it inspired, changed the gun violence prevention movement forever. March For Our Lives helped make gun violence prevention a pivotal issue in the 2018 midterm elections. It built momentum that helped elect a Congress that passed the first gun safety bill in nearly 30 years.

But it’s no secret that more must be done. Gun violence has risen steadily since the pandemic began. We can and must do more to keep our schools and communities safe. And there is no time to waste. As the March for Our Lives leaders have said, “we’re dying while we wait.”

Right now, we’re fighting to pass an assault weapons ban and a safety training and waiting period requirement. We’re doing everything we can to answer young people’s calls. We will keep working until we secure the safer, more just future we all deserve.

Please, consider contributing today to show solidarity with the young leaders of this movement and to support this lifesaving work: [link removed]
