On 17 January, Italian Senator Valeria Fedeli published a press release on death sentences of Mohammed Ramadhan Issa Ali Hussain and Hussain Ali Moosa. She highlighted the human rights violations that both men have faced, expressing concerns regarding Bahrain’s repression of political opposition, torture, and the sentencing to death of its citizens.

The Kuwaiti government has cracked down recently on human rights defenders who have been advocating for the Bidoon. Kuwaiti authorities have arbitrarily arrested more than a dozen protesters including the human rights defender Abdulhakim al-Fadhli, in a crackdown on peaceful protestors demanding greater rights for the Bidoon.
