88th Legislative Session Updates

SB 14  Good news! Senate State Affairs passes the Childhood Gender Modification Bill out of committee, 7-3. This bill, protecting kids from harmful gender modification surgical procedures, will now move forward and be voted on by the full Texas Senate.

HB 1686  The House bill is designed to protect children from experimental and harmful sex reassignment medical procedures by prohibiting Texas medical professionals from engaging in these practices and holding those who violate the law accountable. HB 1686 will have a public hearing at the Texas Capitol on Monday, March 27. Find out more here.  

SB 8  The Texas Parental Bill of Rights. Late into Wednesday night, and after more than 12 hours at the Capitol, Director of Government relations Mary Elizabeth Castle was able to provide her testimony in favor of a number of School Choice and Parent Empowerment bills before the Senate Committee on State Affairs.
