John Bolton’s manuscript for his forthcoming book has leaked, and it definitely states that Trump tied Ukraine’s aid to an investigation from the start, contradicting the many statements he and his defense team have made.
But GOP senators don’t seem to be paying attention to the news, or the trial for that matter. MSNBC host Rachel Maddow chastised senators unable to stay awake or otherwise be present for the impeachment trials. She called on them to set a better example of civic duty, take their jobs seriously, and listen to the case being presented before them.
Mitch McConnell and the Senate GOP have repeatedly not taken the trial seriously, dismissing it before it began. Now, they’re digging in deeper, trying to discredit Bolton before the Senate even votes on witnesses.
