Let's end energy debt

** "No family could reasonably foresee that their bills would go up so dramatically over the last 12 months..."
------------------------------------------------------------

Hi friend,

The government has announced that energy bills won’t go up as much as feared in April. This is good news and a win for campaigners, but they’ve said nothing about the massive amount of debt people are already struggling with.

No one could have predicted bills would go so high. Especially not the 10 million people who have been pushed into debt just to meet their basic needs. It’s a scandal that so many people are being weighed down by debt because of our rigged economy.

We’re calling on the government to support families and write off energy debt, and we need to keep up the pressure. Would you watch and share this video:

During the cost of living crisis, £2.5bn of energy debt had built up and compared to two years ago, our bills have doubled. All the while energy companies such as Shell have reported record profits, their highest in 115 years.

We find ourselves in a situation where companies profiting from this crisis are gorging themselves whilst we get crumbs from the table. This is simply wrong.

Our communities have to come together and stand in the way of injustice. Take a small step today and please share this video with your friends and family.
