Hi JOHN,

It’s Seth Magaziner. I’m a few months into my first term representing Rhode Island’s 2nd district in Congress and I wanted to check in and share some updates with you.

I’ve been named to the House Natural Resources and Homeland Security Committees.

On the Natural Resources Committee, my work will focus on how affordable clean energy will impact the economy in Rhode Island. I’m looking forward to working with my colleagues to invest in Rhode Island’s Blue Economy and the transition to affordable clean energy.

And on the Homeland Security Committee, I will work tirelessly to defend our democracy and combat violent domestic extremism. Ensuring the safety and security of our nation and every American is central to my work, and I take the responsibility I’ve been given seriously as I begin my work on this critical committee, including in my role as Ranking Member on the Counterterrorism and Intelligence Subcommittee.

I’m excited to bring the voices of Rhode Islanders to these two very important committees and will be sure to keep you updated on my work.

Along with serving on these committees, my team and I have hit the ground running, focusing on strengthening our economy, lowering costs for working people, expanding access to healthcare, and making Rhode Island communities safer. I’ve already co-sponsored a national ban on assault weapons and bipartisan legislation that would ban Members of Congress from trading stocks.

During my first remarks on the House floor, I made clear my commitment to delivering for Rhode Island’s working people. I’m focused on fighting for all Rhode Islanders to have access to a middle-class life, the security of a dignified retirement plan, and the promise of a better future for the next generation. That’s what I want for my young son, Max, and what I’m fighting for every day in Congress.

These are my priorities, and now I want to hear what you are thinking about. JOHN, can you take two minutes to share your thoughts on the most pressing issues facing Rhode Island’s families? Your input is critical to my work. [[link removed]]
