Here's the harsh truth, John:

The future of our people and our planet is at risk.

The United Nations' Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) just issued a final warning on climate: "Our world needs climate action on all fronts: everything, everywhere, all at once." The new report found that if governments stay on current policies for climate action, we will miss the window to secure a liveable future.1

I know reports like this one aren't easy to read, and it's so easy to lose faith... But I have some news that I think will give you hope.

We are launching a Solutions Fund to power up energy transitions around the globe that are rooted in equity and justice and bring our climate campaigning to the next level.

I'll explain even more about the Solutions Fund in a moment, but if you are ready to support this new campaign, you can become a founding donor of the Solutions Fund by making a contribution using the link below:

https://act.350.org/go/us-solutions-fund/

Over the past year, climate activists, local groups, community partners, and members of staff here at 350.org have been working to build REAL solutions campaigns. We have already launched initiatives like the Solar Scholars in the Pacific — a training on the assembly and maintenance of basic solar power systems that can provide easy access to electricity post-disaster for island communities — and the Green New Eskom campaign in South Africa, which is calling for a rapid and just transition to a more socially owned, renewable energy-powered economy to address South Africa's energy crisis. But we are setting our ambitions even higher, John.

In the next year, we will organize and empower communities in every single region of the world to develop climate solutions that work for them. From community-led renewable projects to campaigns targeting utility companies, we are setting out to put the world's energy future in the hands of the people.

But if we're going to pull this off, it's going to take an unprecedented amount of resources... and our window to secure a liveable future is closing quickly. That's why I'm asking for your urgent support today:

Can you make your first $3.50 contribution and become a founding donor of the Solutions Fund? Together we can take our solutions campaigning to the next level.

The news coming out of the IPCC report is not easy to absorb. But after reading this email, I hope you feel the same inspiration that I do about what is in store for our climate movement. There's still so much we can do right now to END the era of fossil fuels and usher in a new era of renewables. And together, I know we can do it.

In solidarity and in hope,

May Boeve
