John,

Three years ago today, President Trump signed the executive order that banned
refugees from seven different countries from finding safety in the United
States.

Now we find ourselves in the midst of a rapidly growing global refugee crisis,
and rather than extend a much-needed hand of welcome, the Trump administration
continues to turn its back on tens of millions of people displaced around the
world. That’s why HIAS’ work supporting refugees is more critical than ever
before – and this community of supporters is what makes that work possible.

[[link removed]]Committing to support refugees is especially poignant today, because it is not
just the anniversary of the Trump administration’s refugee ban – it is
International Holocaust Remembrance Day. During the Holocaust, millions suffered
and died because they were not permitted to take refuge in other countries.
Right now, in recognition of this, we at HIAS are renewing our promise to help
refugees escape danger and persecution.

We’re asking you to join us by taking our pledge to protect refugees and asylum
seekers against any policy designed to block them from building new lives in
safety. Will you add your name now?

Thank you for standing in support of refugees around the world.
